  • Continually help us improve our services with testing, automation and monitoring.
  • Be open to learning new technologies as we grow and helping others learn as well.

How does Picatic tick?

We are a polyglot company and try to use the right tool for the job. We find team diversity helps bring alternate ideas and approaches to light. We like to consider our options as a team and make decisions based on long term value to our customers and company. Our own mix of lean startup helps guide our decisions as a team and company.

Our current stack is a blend of PHP, NodeJS, AngularJS, Docker and various supplementary languages. We know that parts of our system are legacy, but we have open conversations about how we plan to replace them and move forward. For example: The team has been discussing the benefits of rewriting parts of our stack in Golang or a similar language.

Over the last year we have been making a transition to a “Service Oriented Architecture” which has allowed us to consider solutions we previously had not considered. A wide new range of ideas our platform can support are opening up to us, it is truly an exciting time at Picatic.

We value experience in all areas in technology/business/startup/life; but of course, it is always nice to have experience in the technologies we presently use. We encourage all applicants to apply if they feel they can contribute and are willing to learn.

Share bread, spill wine, learn, laugh and create memories; this is what drives our team to build Picatic. We believe in events. It’s where culture is created, relationships are forged and sometimes new loves are sparked. Events are life, and going to events is living.

Here’s the problem. We’ve all heard of “convenience fees” and “service fees”. These fees have become accepted in our culture because we have had no other choice. It’s a problem for everyone, including you.

When an organizer puts on an event, they have two options:

  • Absorb the service fees, which minimizes their profits.
  • Pass the service fees onto the ticket buyers, resulting in fewer people going to events.

This is the problem our team has set out to solve. Picatic is a free online ticketing and event registration platform that empowers organizers to bring people together by removing unnecessary service fees.

It’s that simple.

This is why we do what we do. This is our passion.

Why Us?

At Picatic, we strive to be a diverse and inclusive company. We value different opinions, off the wall ideas and the quirky things that make you unique.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience: $45,000 to $80,000. We offer vested stock options as well.
  • Flexible work hours. We meet daily (virtually or physically) for team standup at 8:30am.
  • Family first policy. Kids, pregnancy and life’s unpredictable events come up. We understand, take the time you need to take care of what matters most.
  • Contemporary open office. Interact with the team in our beautiful downtown office. Kitchenette, creative rooms and a great location (next to Waterfront station).
