9th Annual BPW International Women's Day Dinner
International Women's Day (IWD) is a day to reflect on issues of significance to women and bring these issues to the attention of others. It is a day to appreciate the achievements that women have made in their pursuit of equality.
Celebrate this day on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 with the Business and Professional Women's Club of Saskatoon (BPW). IWD is the global day connecting all women around the world. The IWD theme for 2009 is Global Women: Bridging the Generation Gap.
Patricia Lovett-Reid, Senior Vice president of TD Waterhouse Canada Inc., is the 2009 keynote speaker. Patricia will share her experience and stories of Canadian women, who she highlights in her book "Get Real: 26 Canadian Women Share the Secret to Authentic Success".
Patricia is one of Canada’s leading and respected authorities on personal finance. She is a regular commentator for Business News Network, Canada AM, CTV, National and CBC. Patricia is the host of MoneyTalk, a national prime-time television program on personal finance, airing every Monday at 8:00 p.m. (ET) on Business News Network.
She has co-authored five best selling books and has been recognized with the 2007 Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award in the Trailblazer and Trendsetters category.
Another exciting addition to the IWD dinner is the announcement of the 2009 ATHENA Award winner. The ATHENA Award actively supports and celebrates the ATHENA mission of supporting, developing and honoring women leaders, inspiring women to achieve their full potential – creating balance in leadership worldwide. The ATHENA Award honours individuals who strive toward the highest levels of personal and professional accomplishment, who excel in their chosen field, devote time and energy to their community in a meaningful way, and forge paths of leadership for other women to follow.
