Description
Carrie Catherine and Peter Katz share the bill again for the first time since their national tour in 2006. This will be the final show of Carrie's national tour promoting the release of "Green-eyed Soul" and fills out Peter Katz's national tour releasing his new album "More Nights".

PETER KATZ, Toronto ON
Winner of the CBC Galaxie Rising Star Award and the Grand Prize Winner of Toronto's IndieWeek, Peter Katz has been delighting listeners with his captivating blend of folk, jazz and rock music. "Katz resembles kindred spirit Ron Sexsmith and his subtle acoustic charm, while channeling Hawksley Workman's grief stricken vocals. The music is reinforced by Katz's genuinely heartbreaking take on modern day love-tragedies...More Nights begs the question: why is such a talented songwriter with such well-crafted pop songs still an independent artist?" CARRIE CATHERINE, Saskatoon SK
Imagine Aretha Franklin growing up as a prolific songwriter on the Saskatchewan prairie and you’ve got Carrie Catherine and the sounds of green-eyed soul. Her distinctive sound—that sweet and sassy voice and poetic lyrics—has been featured on Joan of Arcadia and television’s Beautiful People. Carrie is finishing up a national tour promoting her new album Green-eyed Soul (2007), produced by Don Kerr (Ron Sexsmith, Rheostatics). Touring with her is Sam Mitchell on flute and percussion, whose deep soulful groove makes your toes tap and shoulders sway.

Details
Hi everyone,

I wanted to let you know that Peter Katz is stranded in the snowstorm in Calgary! Yikes!

The show tonight is DEFINITELY ON and Josh Palmer will play a set in place of Peter. He's bringing out a cello player, and I'll be playing with Sam Mitchell. So it will be a great show-though we'll definitely miss Peter!

Doors 7pm, show at 7:30pm
And there will be no food service at Pesto's tonight. Just a full bar and good music!
